To put it simply, Black Lives Matter is an immensely important contribution to society. For thousands of years, black people have been oppressed; hated on and marginalised. Black people are still the main victims of police brutality. Black Lives Matter aims to spread awareness surrounding the discrimination black people STILL to this day face in society. So, when you ask me ”is it really important?” YES it is. Especially important in ending the prejudice and discrimination to those who are black.

Britain’s Misleading Propaganda
In the United Kingdom, there are just over two million Muslims. Muslims who contribute amazingly to society and bring around a beneficial, hardworking multicultural society. Sadly, though, many biased newspapers use this multiculturalism to spread around hatred. For example, in various newspapers, including the Daily Mail, it is expressed that there is over ten million Muslims in the UK. This is not true. This false claim is used to turn people against each other.
Why? You ask? Because if racist and discriminatory individual’s believe there is more of a multicultural society than they believed, they start to become scared because of the misleading information. The fear of not being the majority. The fear of different.
Incorrect information leads to hate, and hate leads to segregation.
Ultimately, a Racist’s job is to turn people against each other. They believe it is their job to spread misleading information, including in newspapers, so that the world becomes even more divided. Knowledge is power and knowledge is kindness. Understanding the truth and promoting the truth leads to peaceful harmony in society.

My Inspiration
It started when I was a young girl. I saw people getting mistreated, abused and I couldn’t understand why. When I started secondary school, and I was around many different people from many different cultures, I understood why. It was because they were different. But at that age, I believed different was a good thing, and I still do. Being around friends who have been oppressed because of who they are made me think. It made me think that I should use my voice to make a difference.
As a white individual, someone who is not part of a minority group, I have never been oppressed, and therefore, it is my responsibility to fight for those who do not have as many privileges as I do. It is immensely important that I do what is right and not stay quiet about the constant social injustice in the world which is still just as prevalent as it was many years ago when human rights were not introduced into society and into laws.
